FUND A CAUSE
It is not the shiniest cause we’ve ever had as part of our annual auction but this quite possibly might be a cause that affects the largest amount of people in our church and school community. What is it? A NEW INDUSTRIAL DISHWASHER.
The dishwasher in the Family Life Center has seen better days. How long does a dishwasher usually last? I didn’t know so I asked Google. After researching numerous websites, I came to the conclusion that if we could get 20 years of life out of an industrial dishwasher, we were pretty lucky. So how long have we had ours? Can you believe that it is the original dishwasher that was installed when the Family Life Center was built in 1992? That makes this unit 31 years old (or in dog years its 527 years old).
Here are the nuts and bolts (or suds and water) about what we are needing to purchase. A ventless dishwashing machine with a 27” door that is energy efficient, has a high temperature sanitizing feature, has stainless steel rinse arms, includes timed wash cycles and can operate with softened water. To simply put it, we need a new dishwasher before this old one croaks and I’m handwashing 400+ lunch items daily.
Tonight I am asking for your support as we look to raise $40,000 to purchase a new machine. Your thoughtful gift tonight will be a benefit to the many groups that use the kitchen including our school lunch staff, Women’s Guild, Panther Parents, LWML, Guardian Angel Care, and the list goes on. To kick things off we have received a generous gift matched dollar for dollar for the first $5,000 donated.
In His Service,
Michael J. Yurk, Principal
